A Peek at Custom Bags

Posted in Peeking Behind the Seam

I take custom orders on a fairly regular bases. Whether I can take on an order is dependent on my time frame and how complex the order is. I enjoy the creativity of collaborating with customers and making their ideas come to life. Here’s a little sneak peek at an order I am currently working on:

Aren’t they beautiful?!! 🙂

New Crossbody Bags

Posted in Fresh From My Sewing Machine, and Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

These two cuties are custom order mini crossbody bags that are on their way to their forever homes. These bags are such a great size – large enough for the biggest smartphones and still easy to carry when you want to travel light.

The blue butterfly fabric is so pretty and fun. I added ribbon to the zippers to add a little more bling. They have adjustable straps so it can be crossbody or shortened to shoulder, or even waist bags.

This adorable dogs Mini Crossbody bag is already up on my Shop. This one has foam batting to make it a more structured bag.

The outer zipper pockets it perfect for your money, id, keys, baby’s pacifier, etc. The inner pouch is lined with purple cotton and is larger enough to slide your hand in and retrieve your phone, a small wallet, or even baby’s diaper. I have several mini crossbody bags freshly sewn and ready to be featured and posted this week. Stay tuned!

Sewing Custom Orders

I do a lot of custom orders for my sewing shop.  It is a lot of fun to see what a customer chooses for colors or design.

I have tweaked my designs at times because of what a customer would like.  One of my customers wanted hidden straps in her tote. After fooling with the design and changes in making the tote, I ended up loving the look of the hidden straps. It is now my current design with totes & diaper bags. The straps are still sewn in from the bottom seam, all the way up the bag, but now you can’t see it.

Quite often I don’t have the right colors of zippers or fabric on hand. That’s no problem. It is really easy to order what ever is needed.  Today a box with zippers and thread for several customers arrived.

It is always exciting to open up the box and see all the goodies! Time to get started 🙂
