Pink Rose and Stripes Tote

New painted and quilted tote up on my SibStudioSewing shop. The pastel fabric, with it's stripes of pink, rose, cream and sage green, reminded me of a rose bush in the back yard.   I  painted  simple wild roses along the top with acrylic fabric paints in the same colors as the stripes on the top cream band. 

I love how the quilting around the roses made the roses really pop. After sewing  and quilting, I added a little line of leaves and vines about 2/3 down the tote. Inside is a cream and little pink roses fabric and lots of pockets.  This was a really fun tote bag to make and is truly one of a kind..  You can find this tote and more at my sewing shop.

Pansy Perfection

I have some new pansies that were not blooming when I bought them.  Yesterday they burst into bloom….. wow!  Isn't this one beautiful?

Such detail on this flower – the purple vein lines and the tiny bit of white along the ruffled edges.  Just beautiful.  I am swamped right now, but I will definitely be painting this lovely pansy in the future.

Bunnies In My Yard And On My Canvas

We have lots of bunnies in the yard year round.  There are at least four right now that hang out around the yard. They are a blast to watch when they start playing and chasing each other around the grass. They are very comfortable…. ok, overly comfortable…..

and show little fear when we are around the yard.  When the dog is out and about in the yard, they stay where they are, nestle down in the flowers or grass, and  just watch him. Often they continue to munch on grass while they keep an eye on him.  Occasionally the dog spots them and then the chase is on.  The bunnies always win and slip away through the fence. I had the image of the bunnies nestled down in the flowers, keeping an eye on the dog,  when I painted this little miniature painting:

Etsy Wedding Registry

Brand new to Etsy is a wedding registry. Very cool idea.  If you've poked around on Etsy, you know you can find wedding rings, custom wedding dresses, purses for the bridal party, invitations, hand decorated shoes for the bride and her bridesmads,  and much, much more.  You can also find just about anything you could imagine for the wedding, the reception and for  the home,

I had a chance to paint for a wedding from an Etsy customer and it was great fun!  A bride contacted me for a series of miniature paintings as gifts for  each member of her wedding party.   She and I worked out what she wanted and I got to work. What a creative and personal idea she had and I loved being a part of it!
