Popsicles Tote

Posted in Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

This was the perfect tote to work on during a week of what seems like a ton of snow still on the ground and grey cloudy days.  I love the bright colors of the popsicles – so cheery!

I paired it with a black cotton duck canvas so it will hold up where ever you place it and what ever you place in it.  I really like using the polypropylene webbing for straps because they are strong yet not rough on the hands. They can also be wiped clean unlike cloth straps.  I sew them into the bottom seam and all the way up the sides of the tote to keep the straps secure and strong.

I like to play with colors and go a little wild on the insides of my totes.  Keep the outsides appropriate and the insides fun. 🙂  I picked up the lime green from the popsicles and added some orange and white polka dots for the lower inside pockets

I add a zipper pocket – you can see in the photo –  for money, drivers licenses, etc and to keep them safe and out of sight. I quilted the lime green cotton in a free motion swirl pattern to keep it sturdy as well as pretty.  I just listed this tote this afternoon. I will be sewing a matching popsicles zipper clutch shortly and listing it next week. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Giraffes!

Posted in Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

I saw this fabric with giraffes several weeks ago and had to have it. I liked the realistic giraffes and the use of a black background to make the giraffes pop. My first thought was it would make a great tote. I paired the giraffe fabric with a black faux leather and black straps. It gives the tote a more professional look and keeps the black background that I liked with the fabric. The focus stays on the giraffes. See what you think:

I had some fabric leftover so I made a matching clutch that would be perfect for the larger smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Note and Mega, and HTC One Max. These are both are now listed in my sewing shop.

Chocolate for Valentine’s Day

Posted in Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

Perfect for Valentine’s day and all year round! I saw this fabric a week or so ago and fell in love with all that chocolate! I like the realistic print – the chocolates look like you could pluck them from the fabric and pop them in your mouth.  I love how each of these items turned out and they can found in my shop. More February Snow

Posted in Uncategorized

Hope you are all warm and dry today!  Still winter, and still more snow here in Pennsylvania.  So far…. keeping fingers crossed…(!)  the electricity is on. We shoveled 12 inches off the driveway earlier. Guess we will see how much more snow or ice we get before it is all over. If you are enjoying life in a warm location – here’s a little sample of what you are missing 🙂

Still winter!

Ok, time to get back to work.  I have some fun new totes and small paintings to post over the next few days. In the meantime – stay warm and enjoy your day!
