What’s On My Easel

Posted in Art Work, and Peeking Behind the Easel

This lovely small painting of a pink tulip is my newest finished painting. It is a beautiful pink tulip surrounded by gentle curving tulip leaves. The painting is a 5 x 6 inches wrapped canvas. The painting wraps around the sides of the canvas.

I took the reference photo on a trip to Longwood Gardens. They have the most beautiful flowers in the world. Well worth a trip if you are headed for southeastern Pennsylvania.

This beautiful pink tulip stood out in a giant sea of light and dark pink tulips. It was an easy decision to decide what to paint after my trip and a phone full of flower photos. Look for this painting to be posted on my art shop in the next few days.

What’s On My Sewing Table: 2

Posted in Peeking Behind the Seam, and Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

Two new hobo style bags are on my sewing table. I just finished them this week. The top bag is a luscious peacock blue velvet paired with peacock feather fabric inside. It’s super soft and would be perfect for day to evening.

The 2nd bag is another soft to touch gray leopard print suede hobo bag. The suede is manmade so it can handle a trip outside with no worries about rain drop stains. The inside is coordinating gray cotton with a zipper pocket and a convenient slip pocket for your phone.

Both have the same fabric for their shoulder strap, making the bag comfortable to carry. Magnet snap closure to secure your bag.

You can see in the upper right of the photo a sneak peek of the next bag: purple glitter velvet. These bags will be listed on my shop in the next few days. Enjoy !

Large Beach Bag

As we head into Spring and look towards Summer, this is the perfect large bag for the warm weather.

Large Summer Leaves Tote Bag

This extra large tote bag was just listed on my Etsy shop. It is a generous 19 x 15.5 x 6.25 inches tote bag.

Outside are 2 pockets perfect for sliding your phone or keys.

Inside divider zipper pocket

The tote is fully lined with coordinating blue cotton. There is a large divider zipper pocket on the center of the bag. The zipper pocket – 17 x 11 inches – is sewn into the side and bottom seams. There are 3 more pockets – a slip pocket for quickly dropping in your phone or keys. and 2 more pockets. The pockets are made of blue & green polka dots on white cotton.

The blue cotton canvas handles are comfortable, and sewn & riveted into the bag. The straps are riveted into the hidden strapping in the bag that is sewn from the bottom to the top of the bag to keep the bag sturdy. Foam interfacing keeps this very large bag lightweight, and keeps it’s shape to make for easier loading and unloading.

More Signs of Spring

Posted in Reference Photos

This afternoon we could hear the honking way above in the sky. Looking up we could see a large flock of white snow geese migrating north.

Snow goose flying

They were up so high you could only see hundreds of white specks in U shaped formation. I tried taking a photo but they were up too high for my camera.

I am using photos from Pixelbay for this post. They have hundreds of free photos – perfect if you are looking for reference photos for your art.

We rarely see a Snow goose on the ground in the Philadelphia area. It has happened a few times, but mostly we see them in flight, just passing by. We saw several large flocks of hundreds of snow geese go by this afternoon. A definite sign that spring is here.
