Monarch Butterfly Bag

Posted in Fresh From My Sewing Machine, and Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

This gorgeous one of a kind bag is finished! What fun it was to make! I had this gorgeous monarch butterfly fabric sitting on my work table for a bit. When I saw this pattern – I knew this was the perfect bag for this fabric.

The monarch fabric is paired with a beautiful black faux leather. There is a zipper pocket on one side of the bag.

Black zipper closure with a butterfly zipper pull. The bag hardware is gunmetal.

The bag has an adjustable crossbody strap that can be shortened to a shoulder bag length.

Inside is lined with the butterfly fabric. There is zipper pocket as well.

I used the Eva bag pattern by Shambella Bag Design. I wanted to showcase the butterfly fabric and this pattern is perfect for just that!

This beautiful butterfly bag is listed on my Etsy shop and will be listed on my Shopify shop: Sibstudioartsewing.com later today.

Black and White Tweed Purse

Posted in Fresh From My Sewing Machine, and Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

This sophisticated black, white, and a touch of silver tweed is the perfect work to evening purse.

black & white tweed purse

I love this tweed fabric. It is a tightly woven tweed and has a nice feel to it. There are stands of black, white and just a bit of silver to give it some light. I paired this bag with a silver chain and hardware to accent the silver.

The bag measures 11 x 6.5 x 3. I added a silver turn lock closure. There are 2 chain connectors at the top of the bag. I balanced the connectors so the bag does not tip forward when you carry it on your shoulder.

The silver curb chain is removable. I usually attach my chains permanently to the connectors, but I thought I would try making them removable. Sometimes my customers would like to replace it with a favorite chain strap of their own.

This beautiful bag is my design. It is a variation of a bag I designed for a customer’s special orders. It is already posted and ready to ship: Black Tweed Purse Enjoy!

Rainbow Quilted Purse

Isn’t this bag a beauty?!! It’s perfect for date night, weddings, work to evening events, and even everyday! I enjoyed making this bag and was happy with how it turned out!

The fabric is a quilted metallic rainbow vinyl. It has a pearl like sheen and catches the light. The rainbow is muted and beautiful. The vinyl is quilted in a chevron stripe and has a nice feel. The bag measures 11 x 6.5 x 3 inches.

The above image with the back of the purse. The gold curb chain is attached to the 2 top chain connectors. The connectors are placed so the bag is balanced and doesn’t want to tip forward when you are carrying it.

The flap is closed with a beautiful gold and purple sparkle sakaru cherry blossom flower magnetic clasp. The inside is lined with purple cotton & has 2 slip pockets and a zipper pocket.

This bag is one of my designs. It is a variation of one I designed it for a customer special order. I used foam interfacing so the bag isn’t too heavy or stiff. I also like that it keeps it’s shape no matter what you put your purse through during the day. It also gives a little cushioning to you and your items inside the bag.

Mushroom Hobo Style Shoulder Bag

Posted in Fresh From My Sewing Machine, and Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

How cute is this bag?

I love this faux leather vinyl and it turned into such a beautiful shoulder bag! I opted to use the vinyl for the entire exterior of the bag, instead of pairing it with a solid. The faux leather is a high quality vinyl that should last and last.

This lovely shoulder bag is a hobo style bag measuring 14 x 11 x 5 inches. It’s a great size for everyday. It would make a fun statement bag as well as a bag for the person who is wild about mushrooms.

I added a zipper panel to this bag. The zipper is long so you can keep the zipper open for a hobo style bag or zip it up to keep your bag closed. The zipper pull is a little gnome – he seemed to go well with a mushroom bag 🙂

Inside is roomy with a large zipper pocket and another slip pocket. I modified the Estrella Bag pattern by Oro Rosa patterns for this bag. It’s one of my favorite bags to sew that isn’t my own design 🙂

Bacon and Egg Bag

How cute is this bacon and egg bag?!! If you are a bacon lover – this bag is for YOU!

Perfect for brunch, breakfast meetings, your favorite keto dieter, & bacon lover!

I just posted this new bag on my Etsy shop today! I am adding it to my current sale as well. This fun circle shaped bag has plenty of pockets outside and inside. It can be carried by the top handle or the adjustable crossbody strap.

It also features a sunny side up egg zipper pull and inside is egg yolk yellow and white polka dots!

As you can tell, I had a lot of fun making this bag 🙂 It started with some photorealistic bacon cotton fabric that I’ve hung on to until the perfect bag idea came to me. The egg zipper pull synched the idea of this bag for me. I added a luscious black faux leather to pair with the bacon cotton.
