Designer Tweed Makeup Bag

Posted in Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

This beautiful pink tweed makeup bag is now up on my SibStudioSewing shop. It’s 6 x 4 inches in size – perfect for a few makeup items or your credit cards and cash.

The fabric is a beautiful designer tweed from a Paris designer fabric store. I had a little left over from a custom order. I thought it would be perfect for a small zipper bag. The tweed has light and dark pink, blue, orange and yellow fibers in the tweed weave. Inside is fully lined with pastel pink cotton. A pink zipper closure to keep everything safe inside the bag.

It is a perfect touch of Paris elegance in a small bag.

Mini Jack Painting

Posted in Art Work

I painted this adorable mini jack o’lantern this week. I had some left over oranges and yellows from my previous painting, so I put them to use. Mini Jack is smiling on a 4 x 4 inches gallery wrapped canvas.

I used dark teal and black for the background to give it a dark night look. It gives the oranges and yellows of the pumpkin a bit of a pop & glow.

This little Mini Jack will fit into any Halloween decor. He is already listed on my SibStudio Etsy shop & ready for a new home. Enjoy!

New Jack O’Lantern Painting

Posted in Art Work, and Peeking Behind the Easel

“Pumpkin Family” painting is finished ! A family of pumpkins with an impish jack o’latern sandwiched between two parents pumpkins.

I started this fun painting several months ago. I even posted a blog post on it when I was first working on it. You can see the before photo below:

After being set aside for other projects, I pulled it out last week & finally finished it!

It is 8 x 16 inches gallery wrapped canvas. The canvas wraps around the sides of the painting so framing is not needed. I used layers of oranges, yellows, maroons, and browns for the pumpkins. Greens & yellows for the stems. The background is a periwinkle blue to help pop the oranges of the pumpkins.

You can find this adorable Halloween painting listed on my SibStudio Etsy shop. Enjoy!

Summer Pinecones

Posted in Reference Photos

Our pine trees are loaded with growing pinecones. They are still greenish and the scales are still closed up.

The birds and wildlife seem think they are delicious if they fall to the ground. I have seen the center stalk of the pine cone with all the scales devoured.

It’s fun to have reference photos of the difference stages of the pinecones growth. The basic shape remains the same. I probably would not paint the pine cones with the scales closed up, but I would definitely use these reference photos for composition and the lighting.

If you want to use my reference photos, feel free to with proper credit please 🙂
