Octopus Shoulder Bag

Posted in Fresh From My Sewing Machine, and Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

Who doesn’t love an octopus? This gorgeous bag is finished and already up on my shop. It is a striking black and gray bag.

This fun octopus zipper pull from Wondergroundfabrics was my inspiration for this bag. The zipper pull matches octopus fabric I had on hand. The octopus fabric has an ink print style octopus – got to love a good pun! 🙂 The fabric background is a very faint gray damask print, giving the bag a bit of class.

I paired this bag with these cool matte black rivets from Springfield Leather and gunmetal hardware.

This 14 x 11 x 5 inches shoulder bag has a adjustable crossbody strap as well as comfortable and textured faux leather handle straps. Two very large pockets on the exterior and more pockets on the inside.

Green, black and gray polka dots remind me of air bubbles under the sea, around the octopus. An octopus zipper charm inside for a touch of whimsy.

This bag was very fun to make! It’s already up on my Etsy shop ,ready to be loved!

Fresh From My Sewing Machine: STEM Crossbody Bag

STEM Crossbody Tote Bag

This is my newest crossbody work bag. Perfect for your favorite science teacher, STEM student, chemist, physicist, and anyone who loves science!

2 large pockets on the outside – perfect for even the largest phone!

It features a removable & adjustable crossbody strap, as well as shoulder straps. The straps are a textured black faux leather, sewn & riveted to the bag.

The fabric is cotton fused & sewn to a sturdy interfacing to keep the bag fun but sturdy. Microscopes, protractors, test tubes, magnets – everything a science lover wants on their bag. When I saw this fabric, I thought it would be perfect for everyone across the range of all the sciences.

Inside is a fun bubbles cotton fabric. The fabric reminded me of beakers bubbling during a chemistry experiment. I like my inside fabrics to be fun and bring a smile to your face every time you open the bag. Lots of inside pockets make this bag practical as well.

This crossbody tote bag can be found already listed on my Etsy shop Photos of it’s creation can be found on my Pinterest page.

This is my newest bag on my Etsy shop It is a double zipper pouch pocket crossbody bag. It’s a great bag for when you want to travel light but still have plenty of pockets for your items. The bag measures 9 x 6 x 2 inches. It will fit any of the newest smartphones up to 7 inches length.

What I like about this bag, is it has 2 zipper pouches and a slip pocket in between the zipper pouches for your phone, keys, anything you want quick access to. The zipper pockets are lined with purple & white polka dots cotton. The flap has a magnetic snap to close up the bag.

There is an adjustable crossbody strap that can be shortened to a shoulder bag length. The hummingbird fabric features colorful hummingbirds on a light beige cotton background. This pretty & super practical bag can be found on my SibStudioSewing shop on Etsy .

New Crossbody Tote Bag

Posted in Sewing: Finished Bags & Pouches

I’ve been continuing to experiment with sizes and features of my crossbody tote bag. I am always tweaking and changing a design based on customer’s suggestions, buyer’s custom orders, what I see women carrying while people watching, or sometimes just looking at a fabric can give me an idea.

I have a new crossbody tote bag listed on my SibStudioSewing Etsy shop. This new one has some new bells & whistles.

This size is similar to my other bags, 14 x 11 inches. and has the adjustable crossbody strap and as well as easy to carry handles. There are always lots of pockets inside & outside for practical, everyday use. A zipper closure is a must for most of my customers.

I added the pretty feature of the zipper cover on the front zipper pocket. I saw that on another bag and thought that was such a nice feature to give the bag a clean finished look.

I also added pretty sewn in fabric tabs for holding the rings for the strap. It also gives the bag a more polished look.

This bag has feet at the bottom of the bag to keep it off the ground when you set it down. I often use faux leather so the bag can be kept clean even when it is set down. But, sometimes, I like the look of a fabric bag and the feet are a great addition to help keep the fabric clean.

Feel free to check out the new crossbody bag on my Etsy sewing shop: SibStudioSewing.
